Lucerne
After dynamic, eclectic Turkey, Switzerland was a balm to my heart - precise, woven into the nature of elven beauty. Simit was replaced by bretzels. I'm so glad I chose Lucerne as my base - my love for small towns is showing. The cleanest lake, flowing into a turbulent river through the city, the Alps around, swans swimming. A lot of Americans for some reason. I feel such a connection to these places and colossal relaxation. I also liked their idea - war is costly and doesn't bring benefits, let's maintain neutrality, work a lot, and preserve what we have. That's why the meadows are green and not overgrown, the cows are happy, the fences are whole, the chalets are well-maintained and in the same style.
Not that I managed to visit many places, but here are the ones I noted for myself:
Mill'Feuille - it's just a master! A wonderful place by the river, you need to take a table under a spreading tree, watch the ducks and beautiful houses on the other bank. I had tartare, natural wine, breakfasts - everything is delicious, plus the waiters are just sweethearts. We don't take coffee here!
SiP Café Weinmarkt - okay specialty (in the absence of fish and crayfish) and breakfasts
de MATOS - a decent fine dining
GILDA by de MATOS - a small wine bar with snacks, from the same restaurant
Disco Pizza - pizza from the oven, everyone takes it to go and eats by the river
Setpember Vin & Vinyl - a vibey vinyl store and wine bar, recommended by the waiters from Mill'Feuille :)
Mamie - excellent breakfasts, pastries, and cool desserts, coffee is okay. Master
plant. - a vegan restaurant nearby
Wirtshaus Taube - classic Swiss cuisine, sitting by the river next to the turbulent flow, drinking delicious Swiss wine
In general, I was surprised to find that I had never tried Swiss wine, and it's really cool, they just don't export it and drink it themselves. I had pinot noir, which is produced near Lucerne, I had local petnat - a pleasure. As for the cuisine, there's nothing to say, it's relatively simple, combining Austrian and French, that is, we expect a variety of cheeses, rösti (almost like draniki), sausages, stews, fondue, tartares. In general, you won't be left without protein (or extra fat!). Also, my hotel sold delicious ice cream - sorbet from red currant in white chocolate and gooseberry grew in the garden, how I missed it.
I would live here, I swear
