A new specialty coffee shop has opened in the area, and I immediately ran to check it out! I love how the neighborhood is transforming, with new pizzerias, culinary shops, and coffee places opening up - great job!

The cafe is called Estudantina, and not by chance. For decades, a stationery store and bookstore with the same name used to operate here, well-known to the residents of Alcântara.

This spot was opened by a Frenchman named Quentin, and the team works with Olisipo (roasters with a slightly darker style, roasting two houses away from mine), they get their bread from Meia Lua (a bakery also in the neighborhood), and they have fun with fermentation (new lemonades with ginger every day).

The cold brew from Kenya was delicious, the espresso was too dark for me, and the anaerobic Colombia was barely noticeable.

For breakfast, I had a nice granola with yogurt, but the egg in a baguette was questionable. The egg was slightly undercooked, and the small piece of artisanal ham for 3.5 euros (remember when I told you about the mountain of roast beef for 3 euros in Folks?) was not worth it. On the other hand, the tomme de fleur cheese was wonderful, and the tartine was excellent.

You can see that the team is trying, and they even handed out fans on a hot day.
